Corporate Learning as Venture Infrastructure

A corporate academy can reveal which capabilities are missing at work and provide a setting in which to test a new learning product.

Start with the work

When software is introduced, training completion is easy to record. For the operating team, the more useful question is whether staff can complete a specific task independently afterwards. That question narrows the product scope, pilot group and evaluation method.

What can transfer

An employer can provide access to a pilot group, subject expertise and a realistic work setting. Before scaling, the venture should test with a second employer whether the problem and purchasing route exist beyond the first organisation.
